(Press Release) DENVER – The Cannabis Certification Council (CCC) will host the second annual Cannabis Sustainability Symposium on October 17 and 18, 2017 at the Embassy Suites Denver Downtown. Building on last year’s success, the expanded two-day event will educate attendees on the latest tools, techniques and technologies for efficient and safe cannabis production. The Symposium is being planned with in-kind support from Denver Environmental Health and sustaining sponsorship from Denver Relief Consulting.

The Symposium will be keynoted by David Bronner, prominent advocate of drug policy reform and CEO of Dr. Bronner’s, a top-selling soap brand in the US.

The sessions will feature experts from across the country on topics including lighting, greenhouse design, water conservation, packaging, integrated pest management and ethics.

“As a company, Dr. Bronner’s is committed to making socially and environmentally responsible products of the highest value, and we believe it is critical for the cannabis industry to begin driving ethical and organic ethos for the sector,” Bronner remarked. “According to a recent survey, 81 percent of Portland, Oregon, dispensaries report at least occasional requests for ‘organic or socially responsible’ marijuana. I look forward to addressing the 2017 Cannabis Sustainability Symposium, which will bring together industry leaders working in the legal markets to share best practices to achieve ethically sourced cannabis.”

“Denver Environmental Health is pleased to provide in-kind support for this annual event,” said Emily Backus, Business Sustainability Advisor. “Supporting sustainability efforts in the cannabis industry is an important part of the department’s mission to empower Denver’s communities to live better, longer.”

More information, including sponsorship opportunities, is available at CannabisSustainability.org. Tickets go on sale in July.
