New York — For the first time, 420MEDIA and NT Media Productions, both women-owned and led production and marketing companies, are bringing together American and international cannabis professionals (speakers and exhibitors) for a conference in the US Virgin Islands (USVI). CANNAVAL is the first comprehensive conference created to educate and empower the people of the US Virgin Islands with expert knowledge and guidance as they enter into the newly legal medical cannabis market. 420MEDIA, in alliance with St. Croix based company NT Media Productions, will host the inaugural conferences, after events, and local excursions on St. Croix in July 2019, St Thomas TBA.
The event’s keynote speaker will be Positive T.A. Nelson, a former seven-term Senator who pushed for medical cannabis legislation and is now the current USVI Commissioner of Agriculture. “As the Virgin Islands prepares for the roll-out of MMJ, it is of paramount importance that we educate our healthcare practitioners, patients, policymakers, business prospects, and the people,” Nelson commented. “Legalization is an absolute Socio-Economic Issue!”
Conference Highlights
“CANNAVAL” Day one will focus on education, awareness, and empowerment. Day two is dedicated to information, networking, and excursions on the island. The programming will include the highest level of education in cannabis and hemp across panels, hands-on activities, and discussion. “420MEDIA is honored and humbled to bring the best in class cannabis and hemp education to the people of the USVI with local support, alliance, and partnerships,” said 420MEDIA owner, Kerri Accardi.
The programs during CANNAVAL will encompass focus seminars, offering an in-depth exchange with speakers. The conference will include a trade exhibition hall featuring booths with information from leading cannabis and hemp brands, entrepreneurs and local vendors.
“In addition to learning about the many health benefits derived from the cannabis plant, Virgin Islanders will gain a better understanding of the entrepreneurial and employment opportunities within the medical cannabis industry,” said Nykole Tyson of NT Media Productions.
The event will also include local excursions. According to Ms. Tyson, the conference will also include activities for visitors to enjoy and experience the island’s beauty.
Admission to the event will be free for USVI residents. The complete program will be available shortly.
