LOS ANGELES – The Weldon Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending cannabis prohibition and rectifying the harms it has caused, is honored to share that RAW Giving has donated $100,000 to the non-profit. RAW Giving is the name given to the charitable efforts of Josh Kesselman’s company, HBI International, which produces RAW Rolling Papers. The contribution will bolster The Weldon Project’s ongoing efforts to support individuals negatively impacted by cannabis laws.
RAW Giving’s donation will directly fund The Weldon Project’s Mission [Green] initiative, which focuses on providing aid and resources to facilitate a successful reentry into society for people who have been incarcerated for cannabis-related offenses. The Mission [Green] initiative provides legal assistance, job training, and support services essential for a meaningful second chance.
“This generous donation from RAW Giving is a game-changer for us and, more importantly, for the countless individuals who are unjustly suffering because of outdated and unjust cannabis laws. It’s partnerships like these that not only bring financial support, but also raise awareness about the crucial need for reform and the importance of giving those impacted by prohibition a second chance at life,” said Weldon Angelos, founder of the Weldon Project.
Angelos founded the non-profit after his release from prison after 13 years following a high-profile case that garnered immense public pressure for his release.
“This donation is reflective of RAW’s commitment to justice and equity in the cannabis community. Nobody should be locked up for using this wonderful plant, and I hope this donation helps many people live the lives they deserve. Hopefully, this inspires others to join us in supporting justice for all people harmed by the War on Drugs,” said HBI CEO and founder Josh Kesselman.
The Weldon Project and RAW Giving are proud to join forces to push forward efforts to create a future where cannabis laws are fair and equitable, and those penalized under prohibition are given the opportunities they rightfully deserve.
