ATLANTA – The company that rules the market in fruit bouquets has branched into a wholly different kind of deliverable treat. Edible Brands®, the parent company of Edible Arrangements®, launched e-commerce marketplace Edibles.comTM March 20. The platform offers a curated selection of consumables infused with hemp-derived THC and other cannabinoids.

At launch, consumers in Texas could select beverages, lozenges, and gummies from top-shelf brands including Wana, Cann, 1906, and Happi. Orders will be delivered, often within hours, by Edible Arrangements’ franchisees. According to the parent company, the platform will roll out in Florida, Georgia, and other southeastern states “rapidly,” with nationwide shipping to markets where intoxicating hemp is legal to follow “in the coming weeks.”

Edible Brands also has leased brick-and-mortar retail space in one of Atlanta’s best-known foodie havens, Inman Park. The location will serve as a prototype for a limited franchising program designed to “democratize access to the THC industry,” according to a prepared statement from Edible Brands.

“The hemp industry is evolving rapidly, but consumers still face challenges with perception, education, and accessibility,” said Chief Executive Officer Somia Farid Silber. “We’re making it easier than ever for consumers to access premium, vetted products with the convenience they expect today.”

Edibles.com, which the company obtained in 2024 after a four-year legal battle with an alleged cybersquatter, is helmed by cannabis industry veteran Thomas Winstanley, who serves as executive vice president. Winstanley previously served as chief marketing officer for vertically integrated East Coast dispensary chain Theory Wellness.

“Edible Brands’ wellness-driven approach aligns with the evolving future of [the hemp-derived THC] category,” Winstanley said. “With our robust infrastructure and nationwide footprint, we are uniquely positioned to accelerate industry growth. Joining an organization that prioritizes consumers, advocacy, and innovation allows us to strengthen and shape this emerging market.”

Despite composing a market some have estimated to be worth as much as $30 million, hemp-derived THC products face growing pushback at state and federal levels. At least seventeen states effectively ban products containing intoxicating hemp-derived cannabinoids, and others regulate the substances much like they do cannabis. In addition to a bill before the Texas legislature that would outlaw intoxicating hemp in one of the country’s largest consumer markets, Congress is considering incorporating language into the upcoming five-year farm bill that would allow only naturally occurring or derived nonintoxicating hemp products. (Hemp was removed from the Controlled Substances Act by the 2018 Farm Bill.)

Cann co-founder and CEO Jake Bullock hopes Edible Brands’ reputation for product quality, reliable delivery, and responsive customer service — along with the educational materials already in place at Edibles.com and a promise to vet partners for product safety and efficacy — will function as a sort of bulwark against further hemp-banning measures.

“This is a defining moment for the hemp industry,” he said. “A high-quality marketplace like Edibles.com has the power to reshape the future of THC products and drive the long-term industry growth we’ve all been working toward.”
