LAS VEGAS – CANNABITION: An Elevated Immersive Experience announced an innovative collaboration with renowned music producer, record label owner and composer Tom Rothrock. Known across the globe for his work with iconic artists such as Beck, Elliott Smith, Moby, the Foo Fighters, James Blunt and more, Rothrock will bring his passionate approach to music to CANNABITION, curating custom musical compositions for the destination’s multi-sensory, reality-bending exhibits.

Rothrock, a trailblazer in the music industry and founder of Bong Load Records, is celebrated for his imaginative music productions and compositions. His work on Beck’s breakthrough hit “Loser” and his contributions to the albums of multiple Grammy Award-winning artists have cemented his status as a visionary in the field. Rothrock has also contributed to film scores of “Good Will Hunting,” “Collateral” and “The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.”

His vision for the soundscapes at CANNABITION is to present a seamless integration of audio and visual elements. The visitor experience will be enhanced through dynamic and immersive music that complements the interactive, reality-bending exhibits designed by Emmy Award-winning creative director David Korins. Music at CANNABITION will range from subtle, film score-like moments to more prominent, rhythmic-driven pieces across an eclectic variety of genres.

The main score will be heard throughout the exhibition, guiding visitors through a variety of emotional landscapes. At times the music will soften and fade, leaving visuals as the primary sensory experience and allowing room for conversation or quiet moments. Other times, the score will be more predominant, especially in the center of CANNABITION as it takes forefront in viewers’ attention.

Adding another layer of engagement, the audio experience will touch on Latin and American Hip hop paying tribute to cannabis culture. Appealing to a variety of listeners, CANNABITION will also feature everything from ambient to EDM, indie, alternative rock, funk and more.

In addition, individual exhibits will also feature their own distinct audio identity that will interact with the visual art. As guests enter individual rooms, CANNABITION’s main score will begin to harmonize with new sounds unique to each installation. Moods in each exhibit space will subtly shift as the audio morphs to enhance the visuals.

“This is an opportunity to deliver an auditory experience that comes from almost a child-like innocence and exploration,” said Rothrock. “At times people will get lost in the sound, and at other moments people will get lost in the visuals. Seamlessly going back and forth between the two will create a truly enveloping journey.”

“Tom Rothrock’s involvement elevates CANNABITION to new heights,” said Michael Stratton, general manager, CANNABITION. “His genius in music production will transport our visitors into an otherworldly experience, making this exhibition unlike anything Las Vegas has ever seen, heard or felt.”

CANNABITION is located in the Planet 13 Entertainment Complex at 2548 W Desert Inn Road, Las Vegas, NV 89109. Tickets and more information on CANNABITION’s public opening will be announced soon. Visitors must be 21 or older to visit.
