Indus Holdings appointed the chairman of its audit committee, Brian Shure, to the role of chief financial officer. Former CFO Steve Neil will remain with the company in a senior capacity. Shure joins the company from Ambrose Capital Partners where he served as president.

Oakland, California, Mayor Libby Schaaf appointed Vertosa Chief Innovation Officer Austin Stevenson to serve on the city’s Cannabis Regulatory Commission. The commission works directly with Oakland’s city council and provides guidance on issues related to the city’s licensed cannabis industry, including its Cannabis Equity Program.
“We are committed to investing locally in our Oakland community, where I live and where Vertosa is based, and practicing our civic responsibility,” said Stevenson. “Job creation and economic development that serves others is at the core of my civic beliefs. As a Black cannabis industry professional, the reason why I chose to build businesses in the cannabis industry is because I believe there is a unique intersection between product innovation, public policy, and social justice.”
Soft gel CBD manufacturer Gel Cap Concepts hired Rachel Simon to serve as manager of business development and sales for its Desert AZEE brand. She formerly held the role of manager at a Nature’s Medicine dispensary.

Michael Davidson, M.D., joined Colorado-based Geocann as head of innovation, technology, and clinical research. Davidson formerly served as chief medical officer at Omthera Pharmaceuticals and as chief scientific officer at Corvidia Therapeutics.
“Dr. Davidson’s experience and leadership will help guide our research and clinical study success that address the unmet needs of the hemp and cannabis industry,” said Geocann founder and Chief Executive Officer Jesse Lopez. “Davidson will offer invaluable experience in clinical study design, the review of scientific manuscripts and publications, and maintaining a laser focus on introducing the newest cannabis breakthroughs and how they relate to conditions such as pain, sleep, opioid-reduction, anxiety, and much more.”
Upon completion of his security clearance by Health Canada, Trent MacDonald transitioned to the full-time role of chief financial officer at HEXO Corp. MacDonald has served as acting CFO since October.
“Along with the company’s executive leadership team, I would like to commend Health Canada for their diligence and expediency in processing Trent’s application,” said HEXO co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Sébastien St-Louis.
Chief Executive Officer Brian Athaide resigned his position at The Green Organic Dutchman (TGOD); Chief Financial Officer Sean Bovingdon will serve as interim CEO. In addition, Vice President of Operations Michel Gagné will assume the role of chief operating officer.

NBA champion and cannabis advocate Matt Barnes joined Eaze as a senior advisor to the board. He will advise the company on cannabis policy, social impact, and industry relations.
Kiva Confections co-founder Kristi Palmer and Vertosa Chief Innovation Officer Austin Stevenson joined the Momentum advisory board at Eaze.
Dwight Duncan was appointed to the board of directors at Pure Extracts. He currently sits on the board of directors at Windsor Detroit Bridge Authority, Travelers Insurance Canada, Dominion General Insurance Company, Crown Crest Trust, and the Global Risk Institute.
KEY Investment Partners added Enlighten co-founder Colby McKenzie and Cronos Group co-founder and former chief executive officer Paul Rosen to its advisory board.
