The 2001 film “Super Troopers” is considered to be a cult classic by many marijuana fans.
Identifying your clientele is a crucial part of any successful business endeavor. It is clear that guys from Broken Lizard know their audience.
“Super Troopers” was released in 2001 and has long been popular with marijuana enthusiasts as the film included copious references to recreational drug use.
After years of rumors, “Super Troopers 2” is finally set to hit theaters. It seems the release date was not chosen by accident. The film is set for release on April 20, 2018, the official holiday for marijuana fans.
Broken Lizard took to Reddit to announce the news.
“Dearest Chickenf*ckers:
“We just wanted to let you know first before Fox makes the announcement later today. Without you, there would be no sequel, and we damn well know that,” the post read.
Eric Stolhanske officially made the announcement via Twitter:

Fox Searchlight Pictures has also made an announcement on Super Troopers 2 and included the following plot synopsis below:
When an international border dispute arises between the U.S. and Canada, the Super troopers – Mac, Thorny, Foster, Rabbit and Farva, are called in to set up a new Highway Patrol station in the disputed area. Unconventional police work follows…
There is speculation that the so-called “border dispute” is linked to Vermont legalizing recreational marijuana. By the time “Super Troopers 2” is released, legal marijuana in Vermont could be a reality.
