Business at CCSC Cloneville is better than ever. The popular dispensary is in its 12th year of operation and, unlike almost all its competitors, it comes replete with a clone room or “babies” as the team calls them. The shop was remodeled four months ago to prepare for the potential rush of patients and customers since the passing of recreational in California.
Some of the biggest retail trends I see are an uptick in the amount of concentrates that are sold. Also, as people are getting more comfortable with the laws our clone sales have begun to increase. And we are starting to finally see a surge in topicals because the Baby Boomer generation would much rather use our product if it has no psychoactive effect.”
“I manage four or five part-timers. A typical day at Cloneville starts with making sure all the plants “Babies” are happy, healthy, and watered. Then we make sure that all the product is fresh and ready to go. Once our door opens it is kind of non-stop with either phone calls or customers asking questions.”
“If you take care of your employees they will take care of you. It literally is that simple! A happy employee that feels that you care about them—whether it’s loaning them money, giving them time off when they need it or spotting them some meds—really remembers all those things.
First/Last You Do At Work
“The first thing is to make sure all the plants are happy. Clones are like babies. The last thing we do is to put away inventory and total everything up—and again to make sure that the babies are happy and that they will be comfortable until the next day.”

“My biggest challenge is not a single event—it is literally making sure that the clones are happy, the employees are happy, and keeping up with demand.”
“The best job advice I’ve ever gotten is to open my own business and to never let anyone take away my dream. Always do what makes you happy and be nice to the people that you interact with.”
First Time You Consumed Cannabis…
“As a scientist I never really consumed cannabis for the most part of my life. I only started to use as I got older and heard of all of the benefits. Now I do cannabis juicing almost every day and my body loves it.”
“If you take care of your employees they will take care of you. It’s literally that simple!”
“It’s pretty straightforward as to what you need to stock your store with. You stock it with what sells the most. But I am big on the health benefits of cannabis products so I am constantly looking for new and better things to try to encourage my patients to try.”
