LOS ANGELES – A new cannabis themed television show is expected to debut this summer. The series will showcase aspiring cannabis entrepreneurs who will square off against one another for a chance to become The Next Marijuana Millionaire.

Hosted by cannabis industry personality Michael “BigMike” Straumietis, the show will test competitors’ cannabis knowledge and skills. And since the industry is difficult to thrive in, contestants also will have their mental and physical toughness put to the test.

The trailer for The Next Marijuana Millionaire features what appears to be a diverse pool of contestants—including two women dressed as nuns. It also highlights Staumietis’s lavish lifestyle, showing him jet setting and traveling via helicopter. There will be sixteen participants taking on a range of challenges that should prepare them for the intensity of succeeding in the cannabis industry. The winner will take home $1 million and a partnership with Straumietis, which could value way beyond the initial prize money.

As one of the most recognized and successful executives within the industry, Straumietis seems to be an appropriate host for the show. He has been a part of the cannabis industry for close to four decades. In 1999, he founded Advanced Nutrients, the top-selling cannabis fertilizer brand in the world. Advanced boasts an annual revenue of over $110 million with operations across the world and product sales in 107 countries.

Straumietis previously consulted on successful television shows including Weeds and CSI and on the blockbuster film Pineapple Express. He also is a contributor to major news outlets including Cheddar, Huffington Post, Fox Business, Business Insider, Entrepreneur, and Yahoo! Finance.

The full-season of The Next Marijuana Millionaire will premiere globally on August 15, 2020. Viewers can find it on major streaming services including Amazon Prime and Pluto TV. The show can also be found through Apple TV, Roku, Social Club TV, iOS, and Android or Smart TV.
