Orlando, Fla. – Jimmy Buffett will debut his line of cannabis products under the brand name Coral Reefer at Surterra Wellness in Orlando on Friday.
Buffett has been popular with fans of chemically induced recreational fun for years with hits such as “Margaritaville.” Buffett’s mellow music has also been appreciated by recreational cannabis users for a long time as well.
Coral Reefer will offer vape oils, disposable vape pens, rechargeable vaporizers, and apparel. For some, Buffett’s entrance into the cannabis industry was expected as other noted musicians such as Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, and Cypress Hill have already launched cannabis brands.
“It never dawned on me that Coral Reefer would be anything other than a cool name for a tropical band born out of the Key West lifestyle in the mid-’70s,” Buffett said in a press release.
Buffett is hoping Coral Reefer will allow him to promote positive vibes. “[L]ife is supposed to be fun,” he added. “I think Coral Reefer will help a lot of folks do that.”
The launch event at Surterra Wellness will continue to channel the tropical vibe associated with Buffett’s music, performances, and branding. Those attending may want to iron their Hawaiian shirts.
Surterra Wellness, unsurprisingly, is pleased to have partnered with Buffett for the Coral Reefer launch.
“Launching Coral Reefer marks another exciting and transformative milestone for Surterra Wellness in a period of rapid growth,” Surterra chairman and Chief Executive Officer William Wrigley Jr. said. “The Coral Reefer brand reflects our intention to give consumers access to high-quality wellness and cannabis-based products through best-in-class partnerships with people and organizations that reflect our standards and values.”
Coral Reefer plans to expand its product selection and will eventually offer edibles, pre-rolls, topicals, and CBD products.
For those able to make it to the Orlando area, the Coral Reefer launch will be held on Friday, April 19 at 1743 S. Orange Ave at 4 p.m.
