SHELTON, Wash. — Arcana Collective LLC, a first-of-its-kind cannabis collaboration uniting the OG breeders and cultivators with seasoned business executives, launched to usher in a return to traditional cannabis values. Arcana Collective holds the IP to a variety of foundational strains. For more than a year, members have been working in concert, cross-breeding these strains with popular cultivars, paving the way for future releases of unique cannabis genetics.
The Collective aspires to advance the plant by fostering breeding, cultivation and nursery sciences, and to elevate the industry by sharing their knowledge with cannabis professionals and enthusiasts worldwide. Its production facility in Shelton, Washington, called “Ghost Town,” is a nursery incorporating clone and tissue culture technology, science-based soils, and organic practices to ensure healthier genetics. The company expects to launch its Nursery Sciences line of business in Fall 2025, offering its library of seeds, slips, and tissue culture clones, as well as genetic licensing opportunities.
Arcana Collective’s breeders and cultivators include:
- Josh D: A cultivator who preserved OG Kush in the 1990s.
- OG Ghost: Popularized Ghost OG, maintaining a library of iconic and self-bred cultivars.
- Ras Kaya Paul: Founder of Pacific NW Roots, a regenerative cannabis farmer and breeder known for the award-winning cultivar Koffee, and one of the preeminent hash makers in the country.
- Chemdog: Discovered the original Chem91 strain in 1991, as well as Chem 4, Chem D and Chem Sis, which became the foundation for Sour Diesel, GG4, and other genetics.
- Suny Cheba: Key member of TGA (Team Green Avenger) and breeder of influential strains like Double Purple Doja, Black Cherry, and Neon SuperSkunk.
- Rev Fuji: A cultivator since 1990, running Super Knot (OG Kush) and developing genetics like Kurple Fantasy, a 2012 High Times Cannabis Cup winner.
The company’s executive leadership team is spearheaded by cannabis business leaders including:
- Michael Klein (Chairman & Cofounder): A lifelong entrepreneur and cofounder of bio365, whose organic living soil is backed by ten patents, with a customer base including top MSOs and foundational OGs (including the Arcana members).
- Andrew Berman (CEO & Cofounder): A seasoned cannabis industry executive who has managed multiple industry exits, with former roles including CEO of Harborside and President of Flora California.
Arcana Collective’s PAC program (Permission, Acknowledgement, Compensation) will also expand collaborations to include external breeders. In reverence of the distinctive knowledge that each individual possesses, the company ensures every collaborating breeder gives Permission to incorporate their genetics, receives the deserved Acknowledgment, and is Compensated in line with its financial success – all necessary elements that have been sorely absent from the industry until now.
