U.S. cannabis flower commanded $171 more per pound in medical markets than in adult-use markets at the end of 2017, according to data released Dec. 29 by Cannabis Benchmarks. The statistic is based on nationwide averages.
The company also noted average transaction volumes for both greenhouse and outdoor flower were up across the board for the second consecutive week. In addition, while flower in medical markets generally increased week over week, the national volume-weighted price for flower in recreational markets remained virtually flat.
During the final week in December, indoor flower prices ranged from $850 to $5,800 per pound with a median price of $1,600 per pound. Greenhouse flower ranged from $600 to $3,100 per pound with a median price of $1,104 per pound. Outdoor flower prices ranged from $500 to $2,200 per pound with a median price of $950 per pound.
