Actor, rapper, and man of mystery Drake has, according to media reports, been dropping hints that he will launch a cannabis brand tomorrow, Thursday, called More Life Growth Company.
Reports on HighSnobiety.com said that, on Monday, Drake had arrangements of exotic flowers sent to various news outlets in Toronto, with a card bearing a logo for “More Life Growth Co.” City Toronto’s Breakfast Television co-host Dina Pugliese posted a photo on Instagram, of an elaborate floral arrangement with a caption that said Drake’s team was spreading “positive vibes,” for the Thursday launch.
On his own Instagram page, Drake posted a looped video of grow domes with a rotating image of the More Life Growth Co. logo, and the caption “@morelife.” There was little indication of what the grow domes might contain, but lots of speculation in comments that it was none other than Drake’s own top shelf cannabis flower.
High Snobiety reported also that the Canadian Trademark database had an application on file for More Life Growth Co., which said the company will sell “cannabis products and accessories,” as well as branded apparel and footwear.
Toronto native Drake, who has 61.4 million Instagram followers, is well known in Canada for playing the role of wheelchair-bound Jimmy Brooks on teen soap opera “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” where he starred for seven years as a young actor. After leaving the show, Drake went on to forge a multi-Grammy award-winning career as a rapper, scoring his first major music label deal with rapper/producer Lil Wayne’s production company.
The collaboration helped Drake successfully transition from young actor to internationally-known music mogul—and, if the indications are correct, he may be adding “cannabis entrepreneur” to a long list of credits.
