Celebrating Canadian and U.S. cannabis companies, liberty, and patriotism, Dixie Brands’s 4th Annual Cannabis Crush costume ball last Wednesday took over the Marquee Nightclub in the upscale Cosmopolitan for a wild night of anonymous revelry.

“Wow – what an amazing night of connecting with old friends, making new ones, and celebrating Canada’s new federal legalization,” said Dixie Brands National Brand Manager Dave Grigsby.

All masks aside, if you were not on either the main list or the VIP list, you did not get in, which meant the crush outside the club to get in was half the battle. But, like any party worth attending in America’s ultimate party city, once the battlement of the lists had been breached, it was all upscale from there as guests were escorted in style to elegant elevators that whisked them to a pulsating club and dance floor dramatically lit by drone-like spotlights.

Inside the Marquee—a sleek, multi-leveled techno-club with a bejeweled series of chandeliered rooms featuring a bevy of booths for networking and snuggling—costumed attendees lent a slightly bacchanal air to the ball, which was in fact relatively mild-mannered, with no official consumption of intoxicants other than the alcoholic variety.

Acute celebration filled the air nonetheless as the elite crowd of about 700 of the industry’s leading executives and influencers, cannabis icons, and media personalities partied the night away.

“The event was truly interactive in all regards and once again brought together a who’s who of the cannabis industry,” commented Grigsby. “A special thanks to our sponsors, guests, and the Marquee staff for making the event a night to remember.”

mg Magazine is grateful to have supported such a memorable evening,” said CANN Media Group CEO Darren Roberts. “We had a great time celebrating the industry and the expanding marketplace in such style.”

Indeed, as cannabis legalization sweeps the globe, the timing of Dixie’s Annual Cannabis Crush costume ball seems to regularly coincide with significant events, in this case Canada’s federal legalization of cannabis as well as cannabis victories in the U.S. midterms. Who knows what momentous occasion next year’s Cannabis Crush will celebrate?

Major event sponsors of the Cannabis Crush included American trade publication mg Magazine, Auxly, Owens Wright LLP, MNP, MGO, Herb, and MJLink.
