Washington, DC — Americans for Safe Access’ Patient Focused Certification (PFC) program has been approved by the New York Department of Health as part of their Cannabinoid Hemp GMP Certifier program. All hemp processors in NY must obtain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification prior to releasing products for sale. PFC has been approved by the Office of Cannabis Management to conduct GMP audits of Cannabinoid Hemp Processor Licensees per the rules and regulations of the Cannabinoid Hemp Program.
The PFC Certification Program is the only internationally accredited ISO 17065 body cannabis and hemp compliance program in the U.S. that certifies products, processes, and services, and provides GMP certifications. In addition to providing the mandatory certification in New York, PFC provides business certifications throughout the U.S. to all legally licensed and operating cannabis and hemp businesses.
Good Manufacturing Practices are an important aspect of product safety and the protection of consumers and is a collection of federal standards for manufacturing of foods, dietary supplements, and pharmaceutical products.
“GMP certification represents the next steps in standardization of the cannabis and hemp industries, and PFC is pleased to be able to provide this high-level certification to New York hemp processors,” said Heather Despres, director of the PFC program.
