EDMONTON, AB — Aurora Cannabis Inc. appointed Faris El Refaie, a biopharmaceutical leader with 25 years of experience, to the newly created position of executive vice president, global commercial, effective September 28.
El Refaie will oversee Aurora’s global commercial function, with responsibility for furthering the company’s medical cannabis market strategy, aligning its global portfolio, growing customer engagement, and accelerating commercial capabilities across Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and other international markets as Aurora expands its global footprint.
El Refaie joins the company with experience across highly regulated pharmaceutical organizations spanning medicine, oncology, specialty care, vaccines, and consumer healthcare. He has held leadership roles at JAMP Pharma Group, GSK, and AstraZeneca, building commercial experience across global markets including Canada, the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
