The British Columbia Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB) has permitted the sampling of cannabis products for marketing purposes. This exciting news allows registered cannabis representatives and brands to provide samples in the Brand and Buyer’s Zone to retail store licence holders. Brands have the opportunity to showcase their products and connect with up to 50 retailers, representing more than 100 retail stores.

Grow Up’s Brand and Buyer’s Zone is a one-of-a-kind platform for LPs, Micros, and craft growers to showcase their brands in front of Canada’s largest retailers. Retailers will have the opportunity to arrange one-on-one meetings with the brands they are interested in purchasing, with real-time feedback from their customers.

“We’re excited to be the first industry expo in B.C. to benefit from allowing licensed producers to provide cannabis samples to licensed retailers; this is an incredible opportunity for brands to secure future sales and continue growth in the industry, and economy,” said Randy Rowe, President, Grow Up. “The ability to provide samples for marketing purposes to retailers is an essential tool for brands to showcase their products and connect with retailers. We are thrilled that our participating brands can now take advantage of this opportunity in the Brand and Buyer’s Zone.”

The ability for licensed producers to provide cannabis samples to licensed retailers, effective today, will have a significant impact on brands that have purchased a booth at Grow Up, providing them with the unique opportunity to showcase their products in front of a national pool of buyers. Brands that have not yet purchased a booth should not miss out on the opportunity to connect with retailers and should visit Grow Up’s website to secure a booth.

The changes require that cannabis samples be supplied in reasonable quantities and should have little retail (nominal) value. There is no prescribed maximum amount for cannabis samples; however, a sample shall not be used for any type of inducement. Providing cannabis samples to anyone without a cannabis store license remains prohibited.

In addition, the popular Speed Networking Event presented by Weed Pool returns, where retail owners and managers can connect with the hottest cannabis brands during a dynamic speed networking event. Participants have the opportunity to meet with and build valuable relationships to expand their network in a fast-paced, yet engaging setting.

Exhibition booths, ticketing and registration for Grow Up Conference & Expo is now open.
