Otha Smith, Founder/CEO of Tetragram.

Keynote speaker Jordan Tishler, M.D. is a professor at Harvard Medical School and the President of the Association of Cannabis Specialists. His presentation, “Medical Cannabis Policy, Politics and Patient Care,” will touch on how medical cannabis is a safe and effective treatment for a wide range of illnesses not well addressed by conventional medications.

While attendees can join the forum via Zoom if they wish, in-person attendees will enjoy unique networking opportunities, swag bags, and will be served lunch. Following the Forum, CannabizMD’s sister social enterprise

Tea Pad – an advocacy group for social equity in the cannabis industry – will host an event at the UMD BioPark from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM featuring live jazz and host Tahir Johnson, Director of Social Equity and Inclusion of the Marijuana Policy Project, who will host a discussion about how the industry needs to evolve to be more diverse and equitable.

CannabizMD and Tea Pad Founder and CEO Jacquie Cohen Roth. M.S. – a graduate of the inaugural class of the Master of Science in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics program from the University of Maryland School Of Pharmacy – now an adjunct professor of the same program – believes that this program is an invaluable resource for a growing industry that is subject to regular change.

“The cannabis industry in the country is still very much in its infancy, and still federally illegal with a patchwork of state regulations across the U.S.,” said Cohen Roth. “Success in this exciting and groundbreaking industry requires ongoing education on cannabis science and policy with constant dialogue between industry stakeholders like those CannabizMD and Tea Pad host.”

Tickets for The 3rd Annual CannabizMD Cannabis Science + Policy Forum are available now for between $65 and $150. Tickets for the September Tea Pad are also available for $50. For more information, visit http://cannabizmd.com.
