Kid-proof Your Cannabis: Wana Brands Teams Up with Stashlogix on New Public Awareness Campaign

BOULDER, Colo. – As cannabis usage increases, so have reports showing an increase in children accidentally consuming cannabis products. The problem has been exacerbated by the rapid proliferation of Delta-8 THC products, which have no federal oversight for cannabis child-proof packaging or safety guidelines. As a result, the need for public education and awareness has never been greater. In response to this public safety issue, Wana Brands, one of North America’s top edibles brands, is teaming up with Stashlogix, creators of secure, lockable cannabis storage, for a national public awareness campaign: Kid-Proof Your Cannabis.

“Even though Wana utilizes the most child-resistant packaging available on the market, I know how clever and persistent kids can be. So responsible parents need to take the safety of their children a step further,” said Joe Hodas, CMO, Wana Brands. “It is very important to keep your cannabis safe, locked up, out of the reach of children and in child-proof storage. Wana is teaming up with Stashlogix to encourage cannabis consumers to be vigilant about your child’s safety.”

To increase consumer awareness, Wana and Stashlogix are asking cannabis consumers to kid-proof their cannabis by taking four simple steps:

  1. Buy products with child-resistant packaging.
  2. Store cannabis in a secure, lockable device.
  3. Place cannabis out of reach of children.
  4. Learn more about child-proofing from a free course on Zoltrain.

As an incentive to kid-proof their cannabis, consumers will receive a 20% off coupon for Stashlogix products once they complete the free Zoltrain course to learn about safe storage. Budtenders, who serve such a vital role in educating consumers, will receive a 50% discount upon completion of the course. The campaign relies heavily on word-of-mouth and internal channels such as newsletters and organic social media, given that many digital channels still do not allow cannabis advertising, even if it concerns safety efforts.

“The safety of my kids was the inspiration for founding a company devoted to creating safe storage solutions for cannabis products,” said Skip Stone, CEO and Founder of Stashlogix. “Our mission is to help as many parents as possible utilize smart practices to store cannabis, and we are so grateful to partner with a responsible company like Wana Brands on the Kid-proof Your Cannabis campaign.”
