Nevada cannabis operator Deep Roots Harvest names James Mao as Director of Marketing

MESQUITE, Nev. — Deep Roots Harvest, one of Nevada’s most-experienced producers and distributors of high-quality cannabis, today announced the appointment of digital marketing and e-commerce expert James Mao as the company’s Director of Marketing.

Mao, a longtime marketing leader in gaming, hospitality and technology industries, will oversee all retail and product marketing strategies at Deep Roots Harvest, as well as the company’s efforts to expand its customer acquisition and retention initiatives.

“James Mao has a demonstrated track record of developing and implementing effective retail and product marketing strategies that increase revenue and brand equity,” said Jon Marshall, chief operating officer of Deep Roots Harvest. “His marketing insight and leadership will be crucial for Deep Roots Harvest as the company expands its brand presence in Nevada to meet the needs of more consumers in the state.”

Mao was director of digital marketing at Nevada-based Boyd Gaming, at which he also previously served as director of E-commerce. He also has led marketing departments and initiatives at ACEP, Sprint and Interactive Video Technologies. He graduated from California State University, Northridge, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications and Marketing. He will report to COO Jon Marshall.
