LONDON – In the midst of COVID-19 the international community faces the prospect of a deep recession which could be on par with the 2007 crash. Just last week, the Economic Recovery Committee of the Bahamas recommended legalizing hemp and cannabis as part of the countries recovery efforts, mirroring events in the US states such as New York and Pennsylvania.
The result of last week’s US election is good news for the cannabis world, with Democrats Joe Biden and Kamala Harris leading the US government for the next four years. Biden and Harris intend to at least decriminalize the use of cannabis at the federal level. As well as this, we have seen adoption of legalized adult-use cannabis in four states by ballot measure, bringing the total to 15 fully legalized US states.
