“We planted our flag in the midwest with our Michigan launch. Now that we’ve established our brand and team there, it made perfect sense to expand to Illinois. “When we originally started launching in Michigan, we noticed that any post we’d put on our Instagram would have a ton of comments saying, ‘When are you coming to Illinois?’ Or, ‘Why aren’t you in Illinois? Please make Illinois your next state.’ I saw those comments and personally started going to Illinois to determine if it’d be a good next market for us. When I was visiting, I’d be walking around with my STIIIZY hoodie on, and I’d literally get stopped by people in the street,” explained Jundt. “For me it was a very, very simple decision. STIIIZY was already a brand in Illinois, it just wasn’t being produced in Illinois, and we had to open there next.”
