Synfinite Labs Debuts New Brand Identity Focused on Flavor Science

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — The Terpene Store, one of the cannabis industry’s earliest companies focused on terpene formulation, has rebranded as Synfinite Labs, marking the company’s evolution from a terpene supplier to a full-spectrum flavor formulation and manufacturing partner for cannabis and hemp brands.

The new identity reflects how both the company and the industry have changed over the past decade.

When Mike and Caroline Schneider founded The Terpene Store in 2016, the business centered on terpene science at a time when few companies understood the vital role cannabis terpenes played in cannabis flavor and aroma. Mike Schneider, a longtime cannabis consumer fascinated by why certain cultivars delivered distinctive sensory experiences, began experimenting with terpene formulations in his kitchen, breaking apart flavor profiles to better understand the chemistry behind them. Caroline’s brother, Steve Lee, joined during the company’s first year, helping transform that early curiosity into an established formulation company.

Beyond Terpenes: The Evolution of Flavor Science

As cannabis manufacturing matured, so did the science behind flavor.

Today, authentic cannabis flavor depends on far more than terpenes alone. Esters, aldehydes, thiols, and other naturally occurring flavor molecules all contribute to the authentic cannabis aroma and sensory experience consumers expect. That shift has changed what manufacturers ask of their formulation partners, moving beyond individual ingredients to complete flavor systems that deliver consistency at commercial scale.

“The Terpene Store brand served us well in our early years,” said Steve Lee, co-owner and managing partner. “But as we’ve grown, we’ve realized that what we do is much bigger than a single ingredient category. We formulate complex profiles that customers demand. To us, the name Synfinite Labs means finding Synergy in Infinite possibilities. It positions us well for the future and reflects a new level of commitment for creating the highest quality profiles.”

While terpenes remain a core part of its business, Synfinite Labs develops full-spectrum flavor systems, custom formulations, and flower-infusion technologies for cannabis and hemp manufacturers producing vaporizer products and infused flower. The new brand also reflects the company’s investment in manufacturing, formulation science, and quality systems.

State-of-the-Art Manufacturing & Capacity

Synfinite Labs recently completed a purpose-built, 13,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Northridge, California, designed specifically for flavor production. The facility includes a dedicated ISO 9001-certified cleanroom, operates with GMP-aligned manufacturing practices, and supports an in-house formulation team led by Chief Scientific Officer Adriana Mezgova.

The rebrand also positions the company for continued expansion beyond a single ingredient category while reinforcing its role as a formulation partner for brands seeking authentic, repeatable flavor experiences.

Every profile the company designs, from Polar’s crisp menthol clarity to Supernova’s fruit-forward intensity to Nebula’s depth, is built with the same precision: layered, dialed in, and true to the flavor it’s chasing.

A New Identity, the Same Commitment

Customers will continue working with the same ownership team and technical staff while gaining access to expanded formulation capabilities, additional flavor profiles, a redesigned website, enhanced customer support, and increased manufacturing capacity from the company’s new production facility.

The company’s product portfolio continues to include custom terpene-based flavor formulations and Terpifuse®, the contactless flower infusion technology introduced in 2019. Available in both commercial bucket systems and consumer jar kits, Terpifuse allows manufacturers and consumers to infuse flower with flavor without direct contact.

The legal entity, ownership, and leadership team remain unchanged. The rebrand represents a new identity for a company whose capabilities have expanded over the past decade.
