The Source+, a local award-winning cannabis company with four locations across Nevada, showed its support for the Baked Old Ladies throughout the month of January to raise funds for Las Vegas communities affected by food insecurity, raising a total of $9,080.91.
“Looking out for one another is crucial to building a cohesive community, and the support we have seen from our customers during this month’s roundup is incredible,” said CEO of the Source+, Simon Nankervis.
“As a cause-driven company, we are inspired by the work that the Baked Old Ladies do to support those in need and we are honored to make this donation to continue these efforts.”
The ladies and volunteers of the Baked Old Ladies serve hot, delicious meals at Molasky Park on Maryland Parkway from 1 to 4:20 p.m. on the third Sunday of every month and promote connectivity and socialization opportunities for those in need while doing so. In 2020, Baked Old Ladies and Baked OG’s impact on the Las Vegas community was recognized by Congressman Steven Horsford, and the organization was also awarded the Las Vegas Cannabis Award’s nonprofit of the year.
The Source+ has prioritized giving back to its communities since its inception, supporting local partners by donating over $18,000 to local nonprofits, including the Ink Ribbon Foundation, Forgotten Not Gone, St. Baldrick’s, Opportunity Village and Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada in 2020. In 2021, The Source+ has donated over $38,000 to organizations including The Last Prisoners Project, The Nevada Homeless Alliance, Mondays Dark and Susan G. Komen.
