DENVER –

Customers of LivWell Enlightened Health’s 27 dispensaries across Colorado—from Fort Collins to Trinidad—reached into their hearts during the fourth quarter of 2022 to donate the spare change from their dispensary purchases to Food Bank of the Rockies. The final tally of donations from LivWell patrons added up to a whopping $63,000 for the largest hunger-relief organization in the Rocky Mountain region.

“Food insecurity challenges have been exacerbated by current economic conditions making the work that Food Bank of the Rockies does even more critical, which is why LivWell selected the organization for our fourth quarter round up donation effort,” said Rick Baughman, Vice President of Retail at LivWell Enlightened Health. “LivWell is incredibly grateful to our generous customers for making this donation possible.”

Food Bank of the Rockies distributes more than 1.5 million meals every week on average. Working with more than 800 Hunger Relief Partners and operating over 70 mobile pantry sites, the organization enlists more than 18,000 volunteers in a typical year to help sort and distribute food and necessities in both Colorado and Wyoming, where hundreds of thousands of people face hunger. Food Bank of the Rockies acts as a distribution hub for food, essentials and logistical resources.

“It is wonderful to see how so many LivWell customers cared enough to round up their purchases to show concern for people experiencing hunger,” said Chelsea Manley, Special Events and Promotions Manager at Food Bank of the Rockies. “Both Colorado and Wyoming are experiencing an increase in need, and we expect the need to continue throughout the coming year. Contributions like this help ensure we are able to keep up with the need.”

LivWell’s ‘round up’ program asks customers to round up purchases to the nearest dollar and donate the resulting spare change to a designated charity each quarter. Donations resulting from purchases made during the first quarter of this year will be distributed to the The Last Prisoner Project and can be made by rounding up purchases at all LivWell Colorado locations through March 31.
