Oakland, Calif. –

Fig Farms, a family-owned and operated cannabis breeder and cultivator, is proud to announce they have been declared first place winners in two of the three Flower categories in this year’s High Times Cannabis Cup SoCal. The recreational-only competition celebrates the best products the region has to offer and is judged by the public. Its third-ever event took place as a digital awards show and was streamed live on July 24th, 2023.

Fig Farms took home both 1st Place Indica Flower and 1st Place Hybrid Flower for their in-house hunted cultivars Blue Face and Animal Face.

The Indica winning strain Blue Face belongs to the OG’s and Gas terpene classification, with fifteen detectible terpenes and a complex profile of acetone, tree bark and pickled ginger. Earlier this year, Blue Face was awarded Best in Show and 1st Place Indoor Flower in the 2023 Emerald Cup Awards.

The 1st Place Hybrid Flower, Animal Face, has a lineage of Face Off OG x Animal Mints. The strain’s gas-heavy terpenes overwhelm with kiwi, black licorice, paint thinner, and buttered popcorn. Animal Face, by Fig Farms, is no stranger to winning; having won 1st Place Indoor Flower at last year’s Emerald Cup Awards.

Fig Farms is still entirely owned and operated by Keith and Chloe Healy, the same husband and wife team that started the brand in a Sebastopol, California garage in 2016.  From inception to present day, the Fig Farms gardens are still managed by owners Keith and Chloe.

“We are honored to have Blue Face and Animal Face named as 1st place winners by the people of Southern California.” says Keith, who is also Fig Farms’ CEO. “The High Times Cannabis Cups hold a special place in our hearts.  Competitions like these inspire us and remind us of our pre-legalization roots.  Our first win came from a strain my wife Chloe bred in our garage; that win, the 2017 High Times Cup, cemented our belief that we were onto something unique. I’m humbled to still be held in such high regard by the cannabis community.”

Fig Farms has a history of winning High Times competitions. Figment, a strain bred by Keith and Chloe, was awarded 1st place in the Sativa Flower category of the 2022 Illinois High Times Cup.  The very first High Times Cup entered by Fig Farms was in 2017, where Fig Farms took 1st place Indica for a strain Chloe bred in their laundry room.

Fig Farms has been growing its genetics library and its retail footprint throughout the nation.  Fig Farms flowers are currently available in more than 500 licensed retailers throughout California, Illinois and Arizona. The company has continued to develop its offerings, having recently released an edibles line and a half-gram preroll package.

About Fig Farms

From humble ‘house grow’ beginnings to a precision cultivation site, Fig Farms has proven that you can be a leader in cannabis without partners or investors. The husband and wife team of Fig Farms has outlasted its competition by maintaining 100% company ownership.  Founded in 2016 by legacy farmers and breeders Keith and Chloe Healy, the brand is known for its phenotype selection, which sets them apart from the competition. Each phenotype selected by Fig Farms exhibits the maximum amount of plant expression, with bracts, calyxes and bud structures that are unreplicatable by the competition. Nationwide demand for Fig Farms flowers has prompted the push outside of California’s boundary and into other recreational states. Fig Farms flowers are now available in California, Illinois and Arizona.
